Seven Different TUBITAK Projects from KMU in 2020 Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) faculty members prepared seven different TÜBİTAK projects in 2020.
Scientific studies that started from the establishment of KMU continue to be supported by TÜBİTAK. In the university, where around 1,500 national and international scientific research projects have been carried out so far, 708 of these projects are supported by Higher Education Institutions, 398 are those supported by Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University Scientific Research Projects Commission (BAP), 58 are supported by the Ministry of Development, 57 are supported by TÜBİTAK. those who are supported and 41 of them are those supported by the European Union.
At KMU, which has signed 57 TÜBİTAK projects to date, 28 of these projects were carried out during the establishment period covering 2007-2017, while 29 of them were prepared in the four-year period from 2017 to the present. With these number of projects, KMU continues to rank high on the list of 'Project Submission and Acceptance Rates' every year, showing a stable example of success in the ARDEB (Research Support Programs Presidency) support list, which is called the TÜBİTAK project support report of the universities for the last five years.
TÜBİTAK has also updated and re-published the "Field Based Competency Analysis of Universities" study, which was first published in 2016. The study, which enables universities to evaluate their performances on the basis of research areas in a comparative manner, enables the analysis of which of the research fields in which a university conducts research activities within its own structure is relatively more competent. In the report, which includes 131 sub-research areas, it is seen that the working areas of Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University have expanded and the level of competence has increased over the years.

One of the seven TUBITAK Projects initiated in Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University in 2020, Assoc. Dr. Faruk Özel's project titled 'Modeling of Seleno-Peripheral Structures with Density Functional Theory and Investigation of Hydrogen Production Performance' is carried out on energy, one of the priority areas determined within the scope of our country's Vision 2023 Strategy, and the project is also supported within the scope of the COST European Cooperation Program in Science and Technology.
