Certified seeds were distributed to farmers in Karaman Certified wheat and barley seeds were distributed by the Karaman Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry to farmers damaged by natural disasters.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Pankobirlik warehouse, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Yusuf Şahinbaş said that in the 2020 production season, damage occurred in the cultivated areas due to natural disasters that occurred in Karaman on various dates.
Stating that the Presidency Administration of Administrative Affairs has sent 9 million Turkish Liras of urgent support to Karaman Governorship, Şahinbaş said:
"A total of 3,282 tons of seeds, including 1,457 tons of certified barley seeds and 1,825 tons of certified wheat seeds, which will be procured from the Ereğli Beet Planters Cooperative and will be distributed, will be made in approximately 165 thousand decares of grain. This means that approximately 12 percent of the total wheat and barley cultivation areas in our districts will be produced with certified seeds. "
Seeds were delivered to the farmers after the speeches.
AK Party Karaman MPs Recep Şeker and Selman Oğuzhan Eser, representatives of non-governmental organizations and farmers attended the ceremony.
