Face to face education announcement for universities and schools has arrived!
Ministry of Health Social Sciences Board member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Necmi İlhan made a statement regarding when universities will start face-to-face education. İlhan said, "Looking at the course of the numbers, each university will have to decide whether the education will be 'online + face-to-face' or only 'face to face' within its own facilities, its own competencies, and the educational programs they run."
Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk declared that they are determined to open schools with a higher capacity as possible as of February 15. Prof. Dr. Stating that universities continue their education online, and some programs offer face-to-face education, İlhan said, "There are two different opinions from both students and parents. One group specifically says' let universities open, fully face-to-face ', while a group says' completely online. "Both groups have their own justifications. But the truth is, each university will have to look at the course of the numbers and decide, within the scope of their facilities, their own competences, their training programs, whether the education will be 'online + face to face' or simply 'face to face'. Universities will direct this process with their own decisions. It will be right for each university to develop its own program.
'OUR TEACHERS ARE IN THE SECOND GROUP'
Prof. Dr. Reminding that Minister Selçuk informed that the schools will be opened on February 15, İlhan said, "February 15 is a good target, of course we need to evaluate the numbers before February 15. According to him, the Ministry of Education will decide again. Prof. Dr. Pointing out that schools should be opened gradually, İlhan said, "In the meantime, our teachers are in the second group in vaccination. With the vaccination of this group, it may be possible to return to the daily routine. Yes, after a certain period of time, the opening of universities can be considered, but citizens can visit. "We need to emphasize that we can overcome the pandemic more easily if we have to save a little bit in social areas."
'OPENING SCHOOLS IS MUCH HIGHER'
Prof. Dr. Stating that the number of patients and cases should decrease in order to open schools, İlhan said, "It is not possible to give a clear figure; but beyond the patient, the number of cases should also come down. There is a slight increase in the number of cases now.
