No side effects were seen in the volunteers who received the local vaccine. In Erciyes University (ERU) where domestic vaccine studies are continuing, no side effects were observed in the volunteers who were administered the vaccine within the scope of phase-1 studies. ERÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış said, “The situation of our volunteers who have been vaccinated so far is very good. No side effects were seen, ”he said.
At ERU, where domestic vaccination studies are continuing at full speed in the fight against corona virus, the vaccine has been administered to volunteers recently within the scope of phase-1 studies. ERÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çalış, in a statement to İhlas News Agency, said that the volunteers who were administered the vaccine did not experience any side effects.
Çalış, “It has been done to two volunteers right now. It will be done to our third volunteer today. This has a procedure. The situation of our volunteers who have been vaccinated so far is very good. No side effects were seen. We follow very tightly. It's going really well. Hopefully, we plan to finish phase-1 in the first week of January, as we have previously explained. We also hope it will be successful. I hope phase-2 will be successful afterwards. We hope that our national vaccine will meet with our nation and humanity as soon as possible. We are hopeful. While preparing for this, we paid great attention to the safety tests during the R&D work of the vaccine.
Since it was developed by our experienced team, they are very experienced and follow very well in these matters. There is no problem until now. I hope the effectiveness will be very good. It is very difficult to say anything already. First we need to be successful in phase-1; I hope we will be successful. Let's move on to phase-2, be successful in phase-2. Then phase-3 will be broader. It will most likely be carried out by our Ministry of Health. We hope it will be successful in these, our national vaccine will emerge ”.
Saying, "We can think of the mask as a vaccine in terms of protection," Çalış said, "Maybe the mask is more important than the vaccine, distance and hygiene. The mask is especially important. We can consider the mask as a vaccine in terms of protection. Until this pandemic is eliminated or minimized, we need to be very careful with this trio.
We need to be particularly careful about the mask and pay attention to the precautions. This is very important both for the health of our citizens and for reducing the workload of healthcare professionals. Whenever there is complacency, a little more increase. That's why we need to pay more attention until the vaccine is found in the next 6 months. We hope that we will be more comfortable after the vaccine is found. That's why we have to be very careful. We have to obey all the rules ”.
