Russia warns US not to support protests in country
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned the US not to support the ongoing protests for the release of Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny.
While the protests organized by the supporters of the Russian opposition leader Aleksei Navalny, who was detained and then arrested at the airport on his return to Russia, continued, a strong warning came from Russia to the USA regarding the issue. The Russian Foreign Ministry warned the US not to support the ongoing protests of Navalny supporters, accusing them of "encouraging acts of violence that are allegedly peaceful." Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zaharova also quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry's statement regarding the USA and shared it on her social media account.
Zaharova posted many posts criticizing Navalny supporters on her social media account during the day.
