Test drives on the Karaman-Konya YHT line start on February 8.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, announced yesterday that the signaling system installations on the Konya-Karaman High Speed Train line have been completed and test drives will begin on 8 February.
This statement of Minister Karaismailoğlu was welcomed in Karaman, which has been waiting for the line to be opened for many years. The work for the line, the foundation of which was laid in 2014, has been continuing for 6 years. Freight can even be transported. As the test drives will begin, all preparations have been completed at Karaman Train Station. Passenger loading-unloading platforms, waiting room was seen to be ready.
Distance between Konya and Karaman will be reduced to 35 minutes
Signalization studies have been completed on the 102-kilometer high-speed train line, which will reduce the distance between Konya and Karaman from 1 hour 18 minutes to 35 minutes.
A passenger departing from Karaman on the Konya-Karaman high-speed train line will be able to easily go to Istanbul or Ankara via Konya. Likewise, those coming from Istanbul or Ankara will be able to go to Karaman via Konya. There are 56 art structures on the line route, including 21 vehicle underpasses, 20 vehicle overpasses and 15 pedestrian underpasses between Konya and Karaman.
All the stations on the Konya-Karaman line are made so that the disabled can use the stations without any barriers. Work continues on the Ereğli-Ulukışla-Yenice high-speed train line, which is located on the continuation of the Konya-Karaman high-speed train line. / UAV
