Food price warning system
A statement was made regarding the Food and Agricultural Product Markets Monitoring and Evaluation Committee meeting chaired by the Minister of Treasury and Finance Lütfi Elvan. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that an 'Early Warning System' will be established in order to make quick decisions regarding the developments in the food market.

According to the statement made by the Ministry in a meeting in 2020 as well as the epidemic process of processed food price developments in Turkey, the impact on food prices, issues and expectations for 2021 regarding the developments in global agricultural commodity prices were assessed.
Considering the developments in international supply and demand and the course of the epidemic, the effects of the measures taken in some food products in recent months on prices were discussed.
The Committee's; it has been decided to continue data-based studies that will facilitate the prediction of future production and price developments in the food and non-alcoholic beverages group.
Technical infrastructure studies for the establishment of an "Early Warning System" that will help to make timely decisions on developments in agricultural products and food markets were presented to the committee and the framework of cooperation between institutions was determined.
