Support for new employers during the pandemic In the period of January 2019 - April 2020, premium incentives will be provided to the employer who recruits additional workers for the lowest number of workers on a monthly basis during the pandemic period. While receiving unemployment benefits, the insurance premiums of the employees who are employed within 90 days will be covered by the unemployment fund.
With the bag law numbered 7256, which was published in the Official Gazette last week, the employment incentives that will expire in 2020 were extended, while employment incentives specific to the pandemic period were introduced. According to the law, support will be given to employers who will hire additional workers in private sector workplaces between January 2019 and April 2020. In order to benefit from the support, the month in which the number of workers is the lowest in the said period will be taken as basis. For example, the employer, who employed 2 workers in December last year, although he employed 3 workers in all other months in the said period, will be able to benefit from the support if he hires a new worker. Likewise, the employer who employs only 5 workers in one month and 8 in the other months will benefit from the support for each additional worker.
Employers, which were first established after April 17, 2020, or were established before, but never employed any workers between January 2019 - April 2020, will be able to benefit from support for each employee they hire.
RUN THE WORKER 1324 TL
The support amount per worker will be 1324 TL per month. The support will not be paid in cash to the employer, but will be deducted from all other premiums to be paid. In order to benefit from this support, the employer will have to actually employ the worker.
Support will continue during the layoff ban. After the termination ban, they will be able to benefit from normal employment incentives.
In the event that workers hired in this way take unpaid leave, a monthly wage support of 1168 TL will be provided to the workers from the unemployment fund.
YOUNG, WOMEN'S EMPLOYMENT INCENTIVE
The duration of the incentive provided to employers who employ men over 18 and younger than 29, women over 18 and persons with professional qualification certificates will be extended until the end of 2023 by the President's decision. Employers who employ these people are given an employer premium incentive calculated on gross wages. The monthly incentive amount per worker varies between 603.31 TL and 4 thousand 524.86 TL for 2020. The support period starts from 12 months and can go up to 48 months.
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT PREMIUMS AND TAX INCENTIVES
Private sector employers will continue to apply premium incentives for 12 months for workers who were employed in addition to the previous year average, and for 18 months if these people are female, youth or disabled, until 2023. As of 2020, the amount of incentives will be between 1103.62 TL and 2943 TL per worker per month in the manufacturing or IT sector, and 1103.62 TL per month in other sectors.
