Ministry of Health takes action for 'mutation'
After an increase in coronavirus cases for the last week, the Ministry of Health took action. The ministry, which sent a 'mutation detection kit' to the hospitals, instructed everyone who test positive to perform a second test that detects the mutation.
The Ministry of Health has sent a new kit to detect the UK-origin mutant virus to hospitals that have tested COVID-19.
According to the news of Meltem Özgenç from Hürriyet; Head of Ege University Child Health and Diseases Department Prof. Dr. Zafer Kurugöl said that for those who test positive, a new mass that detects the mutant virus will be tested for the second time. Kurugöl, who said "We will see the spread of the mutant virus in the country," gave the following information to Hürriyet:
128 PEOPLE IN 17 PROVINCES
“There has been a significant increase in the cases in our country for the last 7 days. Two reasons can be effective in this. The first is that the virus has mutated, the second is that in recent days, especially with the semester break, social mobility and less observance of measures. In our country, it has been reported that the mutation, which is originated in England, was seen in 128 people in 17 provinces. Due to the nature of the virus, many mutations can occur. We know that the UK origin mutation is more contagious due to its tighter adhesion to the human cell. Therefore, I think there may be more mutant cases than the number reported. Because in every positive case, routine mutation research was not done. However, the Ministry of Health sent kits that could detect the UK origin mutation to hospitals that tested COVID-19. Those who test positive this week will have a second test with the kit that detects the mutant virus. It made you start to mutant virus that originated seen few percent in Turkey, will be able to better assess the first half of February.
SHOULD SCHOOLS BE OPENED?
As citizen Zafer Kurugöl, I would very much like the opening of schools, even restaurants and restaurants. But when I look at the data as doctor Zafer Kurugöl, it is difficult to say the same thing. Opening schools, especially in big cities, may cause more case increase, as it will also increase social mobility. At this stage, it will be much more correct to make a regional decision. Pandemic committees in each province can decide on the basis of province, district and village by looking at the number of cases they have. For example, face-to-face training can begin if there are no cases in a village where the vast majority of them cannot access the Internet. I think that positive discrimination should be applied to village schools. ”
'WEAR DOUBLE MASK'
Prof. Kurugöl suggested that citizens wear double masks to protect themselves and others:
“Nowadays, increasing social mobility is more important than mutation in case increases. For example, crowd in ski resorts, soldiers sending ceremonies. We were all overwhelmed by the restrictions and started to loosen the rules. Although many people have curfews on the weekend,
