The Ministry of National Education (MEB) will provide professional development training to paid teachers assigned within the scope of special education. The education that 14 thousand 643 teachers will benefit from will be free.
The Ministry of National Education will provide professional development training on special education to all paid teachers assigned within the scope of special education. The trainings to be organized for 14 thousand 643 teachers who work in the special education schools in 81 provinces, at home or in the hospital, will be free. 10-hour training, which will be provided by video conferencing method, is planned to be completed between January 25 and February 12, 2021.
AIMED TO UPDATE INFORMATION
In the trainings organized by the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services, basic concepts in special education, special education methods and techniques, distance education processes of students with special education needs, environment and material adaptations for students with special education needs, individualized education program development processes and updating teachers' knowledge and skills.
MINISTER SELÇUK: FOR THE FIRST TIME SUCH EDUCATION IS ORGANIZED
Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, in her assessment on the subject, stated that the ministry is constantly trying to support all students in this process. Similarly, Selçuk noted that teachers also organize trainings to support education processes during the Covid-19 epidemic days and said, "In this context, the awareness of our teachers and their adaptation to new conditions is much more critical in the education of our special education students. For this reason, in our special education schools and special education classes in 81 provinces. We wanted to provide our 14 thousand 643 paid teachers, who support the education of our students at home or in hospitals, to benefit from these trainings. This is the first time such a training is organized for paid teachers. We aim to update our teachers' knowledge about special education and to inform them about new practices during the days of the Covid-19 outbreak. he said.
Minister Selçuk stated that the trainings will start on Monday and will be completed until the second term starts, and said, "I thank my Deputy Minister Mahmut Özer for coordinating the process and our General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance Services."
