Message from Rector Akgül on October 29 Republic Day
Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akgül published a message for the 29 October Republic Day.
Rector Akgül stated the following in his message:
"The World War, which took place after the Ottoman Empire's long-term resistance against the imperial powers, was not the scene of the disintegration of the Anatolian lands, contrary to what was planned, but the birth of a new Turkish state born from the ashes in these lands.
Having a strong state tradition, military genius and rapid organization skills, the Turkish nation, with its belief in its independence after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, entered many struggles for its independence and finally, with the proclamation of the Republic on October 29, 1923, the Anatolian lands were It has once again been announced to the whole world that it is a Turkish homeland. By proving not erased from history as a result of the resistance began in 1919, the Republic of Turkey again reared saints of our nation by name, in opposition to the hegemony of all kinds and has managed in a short time a great job under such difficult circumstances, believing in their own power.
