I was there when Yunus Emre's tomb was opened

Today, our Karamandan.com office was visited by Karaman's legendary journalist and photographer Mustafa Koçak. Our senior master, who we celebrate his 82nd anniversary, Koçak talked about his memories as well as history and his wonderful memories as always. The most interesting topic of our conversation was the issue of opening Yunus Emre's grave.

is Karaman's never-ending agenda. Yunus, it should be. As you know, the year 2021 has been declared as the Year of Commemoration and Celebration of Yunus Emre by UNESCO.

Even though this is not a remarkable activity in the city, we try to include it frequently in our publications.

MUSTAFA KOÇAK EXPRESSES THE 50 YEARS OF OLD CITY BATTLE

I convey it with the expression of Mustafa Koçak;

History 1971 Tercüman and Milliyet Newspaper Karaman Reporter. We were working with the deceased Hürriyet Reporter Birol Kuytan. They called us from the Tercüman and Hürriyet center from Istanbul. They said, "Go to this news that Yunus Emre's grave will be opened in Eskişehir." The grave will be opened due to the Karaman Eskişehir claim. Since we are working on Yunus Emre, they wanted to send us because we are in the Yunus Emre association. We said we would go but we wouldn't say we came from Karaman.

WE WERE THERE WHEN THE YUNUS'S TOMB OPENED

We did not go to Eskisehir as invited as a journalist. We even hid that we came from Karaman and said we are coming from Istanbul. We settled in the hotel and the next day we went to the hill where the grave was opened. There was no house or village in the area. There were no cemeteries or even trees. It seemed unlikely to be a settlement here. Excavations were carried out at several separate points. Animal bones appeared in some places. Abundant bones emerged at the location of the current tomb. The minutes were not taken there, they closed it up hastily. We took pictures. There was no serious examination. We came to the conclusion that this place could not be Yunus Emre's grave. Returning to Karaman, our intention was to write this.
