October 29 Republic Day was celebrated in Karaman In Karaman, October 29 Republic Day was celebrated with a ceremony.
Karaman Governor Mehmet Alpaslan Işık, CHP Karaman Deputy İsmail Atakan Ünver and Mayor Savaş Kalaycı accepted congratulations at the ceremony held in Cumhuriyet Park due to the corona virus measures.
After a minute of silence and the reading of the Turkish National Anthem, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's 29 October Republic Day message was read.
Governor Işık said in his speech here, “The Ottoman state was defeated by the First World War, its army was dispersed, the French, Italians, Greeks and British started to occupy most of the country. In such an environment, an Ottoman Pasha Mustafa Kemal, knowing that the Turkish nation would never give up its independence, started the national struggle by going to Anatolia with the slogan of independence or death. As a result of the national struggle, these lands, which were irrigated with the blood of martyrs, were saved from enemy occupation.
The importance of Mustafa Kemal's military genius in winning this war cannot be denied, but Mustafa Kemal proved that he was not only a military genius but also a great statesman with the Republic he founded. This Republic has been entrusted to the youth as the guarantee of our future. The imperialist states that wanted to divide our country in the intervening 97 years tried to achieve this with the collaborators they formed at home, but they were not successful.
The efforts to set the society against each other by dividing the Kurdish-Turkish, Alevi-Sunni, Secular-Antilaic were prevented thanks to national sensitivity. In short, the development of our country could not be prevented. Our reputation in the international community before with a population of over 80 million with the Republic of Turkey should in the Middle East, the eastern Mediterranean as well as in holding the head to the state called super-state in Azerbaijan, but at home while doing it is the state that does not compromise peace peace in the world policy.
Today, as in the past, the external forces that see our power as a threat to them will not do their best to divide and dismember us. It has been seen to be great, to put it briefly, as long as we have this national unity and solidarity, no one can destroy this republic. He cannot even attempt to demolish.
I wish God's mercy on Atatürk, his comrades in arms and our heroic martyrs, who liberated our nation from bondage and established a new and fully independent republic. I present my respects by celebrating the feast of all of you once again, with the hope that our Republic, which Atatürk called my greatest work, will last until eternity ”.
