Ünver: The appointment made to KOP is the AK Party's stubbornness with the public CHP Karaman Deputy İsmail Atakan Ünver criticized the appointment of Mahmut Sami Şahin as the President of the KOP Administration by the President's decision.
Unver's written statement on the subject is as follows:
"As it is known, it is often stated that the appointments made by the AK Party in the public sector have a political nature and are not in line with merit. The recent discussions about" appointment to the Boğaziçi University presidency "and" militant public official "also stem from this. The appointment of Mr. Mahmut Sami Şahin, who competed for the mayor of Karaman in the local administrations elections on March 31, 2019, to the Presidency of the KOP Administration with the decision of the President has been meaningful in this sense.
Prior to Mr. Şahin nomination, AK Party Konya Meram District Administrator, since 2014 Meram Municipal Council Member from AK Party, Metropolitan Council Member, Meram Deputy Mayor, Metropolitan Council Member, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor and AK Party Metropolitan He served as the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly Group. Consequently, the political identity of Mr. Şahin is obvious.
Of course, it is everyone's right and choice to do politics or not. However, if a person using the right to do politics granted by the constitution is to be appointed to the public office, the basic criterion and priority should be to be appointed to the position to which the person is appointed in an objective selection made among many people, for example, on the condition that he is successful in the examination. Secondly, it should be the evaluation of the person's status at the point of doing politics at a high level or as a simple member. If a person has not gone beyond joining the party he loves as a simple member in politics and has met the first criterion, he can undoubtedly resign from the party of which he is a member and be appointed to public office. However, if he has gone beyond a simple membership in politics, for example, if he was appointed to the party administration, if he wanted to be a candidate of the party, or if he participated in the elections as his candidate, won or lost the elections, and also if he was appointed by the sole preference of the authority authorized to appoint, not by winning an examination or by an objective criterion, It is indisputable that this appointment creates a situation contrary to the basic rule that the public service will be carried out impartially as stipulated in the constitution and laws.
Moreover, Mr. Şahin said, "They can nominate Karamanoğlu Mehmet Bey as a candidate. I am not their candidate anyway." This statement was reflected in the press, and this statement caused various debates and polemics. The description of "them" in the statement reveals that Mr. Şahin tended to divide the voters into "they", "these", "those" even before he was elected and in theory, when one hundred percent of the voters should aspire to the vote. This experience creates a strong suspicion that Mr. Şahin cannot show an objective attitude and impartiality while performing his public duty. Some things are worse than what happens. Maybe it's the effect of these approaches.
