The number of drugs in the reimbursement list increased to 8,880 The Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk reported that the number of medicines paid for by the Social Security Institution rose to 8,880. Minister Selçuk stated that the number of drugs included in the reimbursement list in the last two years is 1,166.
Reminding that the number of drugs on the reimbursement list was 3,986 in the 2000s, Minister Selçuk said, “We increased the number of drugs significantly. Currently, 8.506 of our drugs are on the domestic reimbursement list and 374 of our drugs are on the international reimbursement list. In addition, 812 cancer drugs, 737 of which are domestic and 75 abroad, are on our reimbursement list. Thanks to the medicines we have taken for reimbursement, the number of applications to the healthcare service provider per person in 2002 was 3.1, while this figure rose to 9.9 with universal health insurance.
Reminding that the medical supplies with the 4.833 SUT code are also on the reimbursement list by the SSI, Minister Selçuk noted that they added 33 new SUT codes in the last two years.
Minister Selçuk emphasized that the cost of medical supplies within the scope of reimbursement to SSI increased to 5 billion lira in 2020.
