This year we are getting a raise from 35-40 liras. That's why we increased the prices. We used to sell it for 100 liras, now we have made 130 liras. That is why chestnuts are also going abroad and export has started. Also, opportunists stock up, we cannot find chestnuts. We cannot find it with cash. We used to find it very easy, the prices were affordable, this year it is very expensive. We used to give 200 grams for 20 liras, now we have made 150 grams for 20 TL. The customer does not object, they buy. There is not that much work, fortunately there is bread coming out.

Another chestnut man said, “There is no job because of the pandemic. Thanks to the intermediaries, we cannot buy any chestnuts. Remember before, we could buy it with the heart, with paperwork. Currently, we can neither buy nor sell, since it is always in the hands of intermediaries. There is no job though, and no one asks. At 3 o'clock I haven't had a break yet. According to previous jobs, we could buy chestnuts thanks to our wife and friend. Now the man does not give even a kilo of chestnuts without paying. We used to buy it for 18-20 liras before, but now they do not give it, although it is 35 liras in advance. They say it will not be less than 35, they say there are export, there are intermediaries.
