New Doctorate and Master's Programs Opened to KMU Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMU) Sports Sciences Doctorate Program within the Institute of Health Sciences and Plant Production and Technologies Graduate Program with Thesis were opened within the Institute of Science.
With the proposal of the University Senate and the decision of the Council of Higher Education, it was deemed appropriate to open a Sports Sciences Doctorate Program within the KMU Institute of Health Sciences, and to open a Plant Production and Technologies Master Program under this department by establishing a Department of Plant Production and Technologies within the Institute of Science. Thus, after the newly opened doctoral and master's programs, the total number of graduate programs in KMU reached 76, while the number of graduate programs opened in the last four years was 59.
KMU Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akgül, wishing the newly opened graduate programs to be beneficial, said, “In our Health Sciences Institute, which we established in early 2018, the Sports Sciences Master's Program with Thesis was opened in the same year, and then in the Departments of Health Management, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, and We started education by opening a doctorate program. With our Sports Sciences Doctorate Program, we have become able to provide postgraduate education services in many fields of health sciences within our institute.
Within our Institute of Science, we have opened 14 different graduate programs since 2017 and accelerated scientific research in these fields. I believe that the Herbal Production and Technologies Master's Program with Thesis, which we have now included in our academic range, will open the door to important research. Our new graduate program will make significant contributions to the sector in the field of food and agriculture, which is one of the differentiation areas of our university. In the next period, we will continue our development with new postgraduate programs in line with the needs of our country and our region. " said.
